Installation of window films

The application of films is carried out using the wet method and ideally under optimal conditions. Rain and wind are not conducive to exterior sunscreen films as they can cause the film to leak or trap dirt on the surface. Indoors, it is important to have the area near the windows prepared. Dusty environments or construction work taking place nearby are not suitable. The better the conditions, the better the result.

We do not like to move other people's belongings, so we recommend that you move your valuables, vases, flowers or electronics before our arrival. Keep in mind that we will be using a solution during the installation, which while not harmful, the moisture may harm some items. The ideal space for taping the film and moving the easels near the window is half a meter or more. However, you don't have to worry about moisture - we have everything we need to cover window sills and floors with us. 

Installing the film starts with thoroughly cleaning the glass of all dirt with a special scraper (razor blade) and a rubber squeegee. The film and glass are then sprayed with a solution, applied to the glass and carefully centred. The water under the film is then squeezed out with a rubber squeegee and the edges are trimmed according to the type of film. In some cases the film is placed under the window trims.

The drying time is 60 to 120 days from the completion of installation. Sometimes a haze or bubbles may form between the glass and the film, which will gradually dry out.

The film is finished ideally 1 to 3 mm from the edge of the frame for better adhesion and to push water out from under the film. For old or uneven and large frames this may be a little more (as prescribed by the manufacturer).

Inspection of the installed film must be from a minimum distance of 2 m.

Recommended film maintenance

After 30 days from installation, the films can be cleaned.

We recommend washing them with a rubber squeegee and water. It is important to clean the squeegee with a clean cloth or paper towel after each wipe of one strip of film to avoid scratching the film with dust or dirt.

Do not clean the film with chemical solutions such as thinner or other aggressive substances.

Also avoid cleaning with sharp objects such as screwdrivers, wire cutters or other sharp instruments.

Window measuring service

For an indicative price offer, a layman's measurement is sufficient, when you simply measure the glass from the moulding to the moulding, possibly with a small overlap (about 3 cm). Of course, we will measure the glass before the installation to ensure that the film is glued on accurately. However, if you would prefer to have the measurement taken care of by experts, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to come, measure the glass, discuss everything with you and then prepare a tailored offer for you. This service is charged at a nominal fee of 600 CZK for the Prague area, which covers the cost of transport and time. If you decide to install with us, we will gladly deduct this amount from the final price of the order*.
